The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home with a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.
